The Wins We've Won is an upcoming compilation/tribute album from Neon and the Argie Bees, comprised of covers for songs associated with versions of Microsoft's Windows operating systems.
From songs used in commercials of the products, to sample music included in copies of the software itself, the compilation even ends with a skit referencing the MS-DOS 5 days.
The album went into pre-production in 2022, when NeonWabbit bought a copy of each version of Windows from sellers on eBay. Some of these very copies are shown blurred outside a window on the cover art.
Background
An early version of this compilation album project was called "How to Count from 95 to 11" in reference to Windows version numbers. "No PC Should Be Without It!", the skit at the end of the album, expands upon this initial idea by teaching how to count from 1.0 to 11, and how "from Chicago and to Memphis, we are getting lit", a reference to codenames of unreleased Windows versions.
