NeonWabbit Productions (d.b.a. Studio RGB-Newt / The Fishal Project) is an Australian multimedia business developing and publishing art, animated series, film productions, music, and software (including video games). The business was founded by Darien Brice Dickinson (@NeonWabbit) as Darien Enterprises Co. in 2004, for his first production, a comic fanzine called the Darien Daily, which included the very first story of his first character Surfman, Surfman in the "NO" Race. The business was officially registered with Australian Government services (such as the Australian Business Registrar) on October 15, 2020, giving it the ABN number 39 324 114 296.

For the current name, the word NeWt (originally a shorthand for NeonWabbit's username) was retroactively given a lower-case "w" to reference the amphibian animal instead, and while jointly billed and registered as one business, Studio RGB-Newt and The Fishal Project are partially considered separate for aesthetic purposes, with the former focusing on the production side of things, whilst the latter handles distribution of Studio RGB-Newt's projects, and even projects by NeonWabbit's friends. The Fishal Project also releases music under the record label name Fishal Project Records.

Studio RGB-Newt / The Fishal Project's upcoming "flagship" productions include the Flye 'n' Frie series of video games featuring NeonWabbit characters Flye and Frie, Nyah Has an Adventure, an animated webseries about a parasite named Nyah who wants to survive in a world where parasites are illegal, and The Aussie Goldmine, a franchise centred around a webcomic about a kangaroo and emu detective duo who solve problems and fight crime with a rotating cast of collaborators.

A Let's Play series titled Argie Bee Plays, hosted by Vtuber Flye (a character separate from the aforementioned Flye), started releasing episodes in 2024. A video game in the fighting genre titled Combat Practice 2, based on characters designed by The-F0X, is also in development.

Theme music

Since the "2004–2014" identity and branding, the current Studio RGB-Newt theme song has been titled "Accordio Nyah", as it is primarily an accordion piece that was first used in Nyah Has an Adventure franchise-related content, and is actually a sped-up version of the original music as it was featured in its first production, including the bell "ding" at the end. In the metadata of some earlier copies of the track, it is simply known as the "Studio RGB-Newt Theme Song".

For The Fishal Project's logos and ident cards, a slowed-down version of a track titled "Really Neat!", composed on April 30, 2012, is used. When the MIDI data is viewed on a piano roll, you can see the notes are in the shape of a simplified Neon Mascot head.

Structure

Divisions

As an individual / sole trader business, Studio RGB-Newt is technically not divided up into multiple divisions. However, internal groups or "teams" related to specific Studio RGB-Newt products and services have been set up to keep collaborators organized. They include:

Team All-Stars

Team All-Stars consists of friends, colleagues and other acquaintances of NeonWabbit. A certain number of these people are usually credited in every project, even if they were not involved.

Team Flying Free

Team Flying Free oversees everything to do with the Flye 'n' Frie franchise and related characters, like Flye and Frie themselves.

The name is derived from the obvious pun used in the franchise's title.

Team Lewd the Newt

Team Lewd the Newt focuses on NSFW 18+ productions involving NeonWabbit's characters.

The first production credited to, and presented by, The Fishal Project through them is a commission of artist Toxis for an animated short film based on The Aussie Goldmine franchise, which was released in November 2023 as Refill.

Their Twitter can be found at: twitter.com/LewdTheNewt. Their website domain, Plapp.ing, can be found at: plapp.ing

Team Redgreen

Team Redgreen is related to the Argie Bee franchise, Redgreen OS, Redgreen Game Engine, and other software and gaming endevours such as the community Minecraft server.

Their website domain is argieb.ee, which currently redirects to Studio RGB-Newt's homepage, RedGreenBlue.art.

Team Tadpole Cat

Team Tadpole Cat oversees everything to do with the Nyah Has an Adventure franchise and related characters, like Nyah herself.

The name is based on the fact that Nyah has a tadpole-like tail, and is also in reference to the Japanese onomatopoeia for cat meowing noises, or "nya", which shares its pronunciation with Nyah's name.
