Flye 'n' Frie in... Amaze Game (or simply Amaze Game) is an upcoming maze game, developed by Studio RGB-Newt and published by The Fishal Project, for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It is a two-player VS. action game where one player controls the eponymous character Flye, and the other player controls the other titular character Frie. After charging up a lifeforce energy meter, each character can shoot magic projectiles (fire missiles and wind tornadoes, respectively), and must be the first to hit another character (player or NPC) three times to win.
Defeating NPCs, collecting items, and using powerups also contributes to each player's score, and along with the main winner, a secondary winner is declared for whoever has the highest score, which can again turn out to be the main winner, if not the other player. Gameplay takes place in one of over one hundred randomly selected mazes, each shaped to whatever pixel art fits on a single NES screen, such as a depiction of a dolphin. Every alternating horizontal and vertical line in the maze has destructible blocks which players can expend their power on to reveal items and other powerups underneath, and moving to the maze's exits, one on each side of the play area, will teleport both players to their start positions on another random level.
The game is the debut title out of eight titles in the "8-Bit Series" of Flye 'n' Frie games for the NES, all eight of which will be bundled together in the Flye 'n' Frie: Classic Collection for PC, and are otherwise released as separate NES ROM files that are playable in emulators or on real NES (or NES-compatible) hardware through physical cartridges.

Plot
Story
Prologue
A prologue comic, optionally viewable from the game's main menu, shows a young Flye entering an arcade and being forcibly strapped into a VR headset, with Frie (who he doesn't know at this point) also being randomly pulled off the street to be the second player at the opposite end of the arcade.
Epilogue
An epilogue comic, optionally viewable after a session of gameplay (regardless of the outcome of the match), shows Flye and Frie leaving the arcade without seeing or physically meeting the other person. When Flye is informed that the in-game avatar of his opponent matches their physical appearance, so he's always welcome to go over and ask for a rematch, Flye responds, "Yeah right, as if anyone that beautiful exists."
The game's "End." screen and copyright information then fade in, along with the appearance of the exterior of the arcade changing to become old and abandoned with broken and boarded-up windows.
