Redgreen Software Suite

The Redgreen Software Suite (or the Redgreen Creative Suite) is a collection of PC and mobile software applications for creatives (including artists, animators, designers, filmmakers, photographers, programmers, and those of other multimedia disciplines) and video games, managed by Team Redgreen of Studio RGB-Newt, and published by The Fishal Project.

Each creative app, noted by its Redgreen branding in the name, also has a shorthand abbreviated name, used for purposes such as the app logos and file names, and this is usually stylized as "rg" (in lowercase) + two letters associated with the app (in uppercase). Examples include "rgCC" for Redgreen ChimeraCam and "rgBS" for Redgreen Bookshelf.

A launcher app, also titled Redgreen Creative Suite, automating the downloading and updating of some software in the suite or linking out to them (in the case of games or mobile apps on storefronts such as the Google Play Store or Steam), exists but has not yet been made public. It also works as a viewer / editor of common metadata and save data for the .rgproj file format, of which all Redgreen creative apps use to stay in sync with each other, for interoperability reasons.

Another suite-compatible file format, .rgbase, is used to create master database files for .rgproj files, and a separate .rgcanvas file format is available for Redgreen DotonCanvas, should users want to make one-off art pieces not associated with multimedia projects.

Discontinued

Usage

As .rgproj files can only be created with Redgreen Rewritten, the app should be used first when starting a multimedia project. Redgreen Wrapup is the last app to be used as it handles organizing credits, and distribution on social media.

A paged wizard in the Redgreen Creative Suite launcher app also guides users through the intended order of using the software in the suite.

If the user just wants to make a one-off art piece, rather than start an entire multimedia project with screenplays, scenes, and shots, they can save to the .rgcanvas file format to save their layers in Redgreen DotonCanvas, and export to a variety of other image formats, like .png.
