Newfolde is a hybrid wolf-fox character, owned by NeonWabbit, who bought the character from their designer INFERNOFEARR in 2021.
Newfolde later became the mascot of the Redgreen Software Suite, which includes projects like Redgreen BooruTagger, Redgreen Game Engine, and Redgreen OS, due to their red-green colour scheme.
Concept and creation
Newfolde's name came from creating a "new folder" to house the yet unnamed character's art on a PC running the Windows operating system. After inadvertently pressing backspace once, the two words were combined to create the final name for the character, which coincidentally includes the words "new" and "old".
