The character was originally envisioned as someone who has never seen a video game in their life, and who ended up lost in space, just happening to float past solar-powered abandoned arcade cabinets, consoles, and other machines designed to play video games. Through this, he would learn a life lesson from each game, that'd help him get out of his situation of being trapped and floating amongst the stars.
