Newfolde is a hybrid wolf-fox character, owned by NeonWabbit, who bought the character from their designer INFERNOFEARR in 2021.

Newfolde later became the mascot of the Redgreen OS Linux distribution due to their red-green colour scheme.

Concept and creation

Newfolde's name came from creating a "new folder" to house the yet unnamed character's art on a PC running the Windows operating system. After inadvertently pressing backspace once, the two words were combined to create the final name for the character.
